İKİ TOPLUMLU BARIŞ İNSİYATİFİ’NDEN İSVİÇRE BÜYÜKELÇİLİĞİNE ZİYARET
ki Toplumlu Barış İnisiyatifi – Birleşik Kıbrıs Heyetinin İsviçre Büyükelçisi ve Yardımcısı ile Görüşmesi 23 Ekim 2025 tarihinde, İki Toplumlu Barış İnisiyatifi – Birleşik Kıbrıs geniş bir heyetle birlikte İsviçre Büyükelçisi Sayın Christoph Burgener ve Misyon Başkan Yardımcısı Sayın Candice Léchot ile bir görüşme gerçekleştirdi. Görüşmede, İki Toplumlu Barış İnisiyatifi – Birleşik Kıbrıs platformunun çalışmaları ve amaçları ile, iki toplumlu inisiyatifin son 25 yıl içerisinde Kıbrıs’ın siyasi eşitliğe dayalı iki toplumlu, iki bölgeli bir federasyon çatısı altında yeniden birleşmesi mücadelesindeki rolü hakkında kısa bir bilgilendirme yapıldı. Barış İnisiyatifi, Kıbrıslı Türk Liderlik seçimlerinin etkileyici sonucu ile oluşan fırsat penceresinin ve müzakere sürecinin yeniden başlatılması yönündeki umutların önemini vurguladı. Ayrıca, yenilenecek bir süreçte Crans Montana dahil olmak üzere tüm yakınlaşmalara saygı gösterilmesi ve BM Genel Sekreteri’nin 6 maddelik çerçevesine ilişkin somut önerilerin masaya konulmasının zorunlu olduğu ifade edildi. Görüşme sırasında, İsviçre’nin yönetim modeli üzerinden çıkarılabilecek derslere kapsamlı şekilde değinildi ve bu deneyimden nasıl yararlanılabileceğine ilişkin fikirler ele alındı. İki Toplumlu Barış İnisiyatifi – Birleşik Kıbrıs, İsviçre’nin Kıbrıs sorununun barışçıl çözümü arayışındaki yapıcı rolü ve özellikle Kayıp Şahıslar Komitesi (CMP) gibi önemli kurumlara sağladığı maddi destek için derin takdirlerini ifade etti.

Meeting of a Delegation of the Bicommunal Peace Initiative -United Cyprus with the Ambassador of Switzerland and his deputy
On 23rd October, 2025, a broad delegation of the Bicommunal Peace Initiative – United Cyprus held a meeting with the Swiss Ambassador Mr Christoph Burgener and the Deputy Head of Mission, Ms Candice Léchot.
At the meeting the Bi-communal Peace Initiative -United Cyprus briefly outlined the work and aims of the platform and the role that the bi-communal movement has had over the last 25 or so years in the struggle for reuniting Cyprus in a Bi-communal Bi-zonal Federation with political equality.
The Peace Initiative underscored the importance of the window of opportunity created by the impressive result of the Turkish Cypriot Leadership elections and the renewed hope for reconvening the negotiation process. It was further stressed that in a renewed process it is essential that all convergences up to and including Crans Montana need to be respected and clear proposals regarding the UN SG 6-point framework need to be tabled.
During the discussion extensive reference to the lessons that can be learned from the Swiss model of governance was made and ideas on how to make use of this possibility were considered.
The Bi-communal Peace Initiative -United Cyprus expressed its deep appreciation of the positive role that Switzerland plays in search for a peaceful resolution of the Cyprus problem including funding of significant institutions like the CMP
