Güney Kıbrıs’ta son 24 saatte 52 bin 427 test yapıldı, 99 yeni vaka tespit edildi, 1 can kaybı yaşandı.

One person died from coronavirus while 99 new cases were recorded on Saturday, the ministry of health said.

The death refers to an 88-year-old woman who died on Friday in Limassol hospital. Among the deaths 350 have been men (64 per cent) and 201 women (36 per cent).

The death brings the total since the start of the pandemic to 551.

There are currently 78 patients in hospital, 32 of which are in a serious condition. Among these 14 are intubated, one is in ICU but not on a ventilator and 17 are in a high dependency unit.

Of all patients 78.32 per cent have not been vaccinated.

There are 12 post-Covid patients in ICU units in hospital.

A total of 52,427 tests, both PCR and rapid, were carried out on Saturday.

A total of 4,816 tests were PCR while 47,611 were rapid tests.

Among these 13 cases were found among 54 tests taken from contacts of known cases, and five were found among 2,379 tests taken at the airports.

A further 22 cases were found among 2,235 tests taken on private initiative and two were found from 131 tests at state hospitals.

Among 34,477 tests carried out at private labs and clinics there were 45 cases while 13,134 tests carried out at the ministry’s free rapid test centres found 12 cases.

Of the free rapid tests, four cases were found in Nicosia, two in Limassol, two in Larnaca and one in Paphos.

The 99 new cases represents a positivity rate of 0.19 per cent.

Since the start of the pandemic a total of 119,689 cases of Covid have been recorded.
